Frequently Asked Questions

What You Need to Know

Safety and Liability

At Commando Action Centre, your safety is our number one priority.  Each Field Marshal is CPR and First Aid certified and carry a first aid kit with them on the field.

In addition, we have an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) onsite in the event of any coronary emergencies.

The safety mask provided to play and walk on the fields must be worn at all times past the warning signs.

While no experience is necessary, you should be in good health or consult your healthcare provider if you are unsure about doing vigorous physical exercise. The minimum age is 10 and players 10 and 11 must have a parent/guardian playing with them on the field.

Although we take all necessary precautions to ensure a safe experience, we can assume no responsibility for your safety or loss of personal equipment. In paintball, an element of risk is inherent and some beyond human control. A signed Waiver and Release form is required of all participants and a parent/guardian release for minors (under 18).

Common Questions

Do I need to make reservations?

We are open 7 days a week by reservation only. For a weekday booking, a minimum of 10 players is required with the Full Commando package.

On weekends or statutory holidays, there is no minimum for a reservation. Reservations are always recommended and can be made by calling 613 835-1729 or by e-mailing us at If you walk in without a reservation, there is a risk you will not be able to play or we cannot control who you are playing with.

What do I need to make a reservation?

In order to make a reservation, we require the name of the organizer, a phone number and the number of players. When closer to the date of the booking, we require a valid credit card number. We do not use the card and everyone pays separately at the field on the date of the game, however, the organizer has 48 hours to cancel the whole group. The organizer is not responsible for no-shows. If no one calls to cancel the group and no one shows up from the group, we charge the card a $20 per player penalty. If you do not have a credit card, we require a $20 deposit per player in advance to hold the reservation.

What time do you open and close?

With the exception of walk-on days, which open at 10:00 a.m., we are very group driven, so we do not have set open and close times. We open when the first group is booked in and close when the groups are done or when it gets dark, whatever comes first. If you are walking in, we recommend you do not come out any later than 2:00 p.m. as a start time, as we cannot run with less than 10 players.

What does a private group mean?

If you are 20 or more players, then you are considered private. This means you are not subject to mingling and your group will be moved around from field to field and there will be no outside players allowed in your group.

If I have never played before and I have a small group, will I play with more experienced players?

That should never happen with reservations, since the majority of our customers have never played before. We take tremendous care in making sure that people are paired with players of the same experience level so everyone enjoys their time. Nothing ruins a good time faster than being overshot by Rambo. However, if you walk in without a reservation, we cannot control who you play with.

Do you show us how to play paintball?

Each and every player is assigned to a field marshall who provides a safety briefing, training session and escorts the group from field to field while they are playing.

What other items should I bring?

We provide coveralls, however Commando Paintball is situated in a wooded area and prone to wet conditions, so we also suggest you bring the following:

  • Good footwear and an extra pair of shoes
  • Loose fitting, comfortable clothing
  • Thin gloves
  • A baseball cap, bandana or hockey neck guard to protect your head and neck
  • We highly recommend bug spray and sunscreen.
Does getting shot with a paintball hurt?

A paintball shot should not hurt. If players do not respect the rules of the game and do not keep a reasonable distance, it could sting when you are hit. We have a strict surrender rule that must be followed and will be explained during the safety briefing.

At Commando Paintball, we ensure our equipment does not surpass the field limit and we only use top quality paintballs.

Can I bring my own paintballs?

No. Only our paintballs can be used. We have a very large facility and maintaining it is very costly. Also, and less important to you cost-conscious folks, we have very large bodies of water and various species of wildlife and outside paintballs could contaminate our water and poison our animals.

Can I use my own paintball marker?

Yes. Personal markers have to be tested to ensure they meet the field speed of 280 fps. We also offer free air fills.

Can I watch the games if I am not playing?

Certainly. If you are not playing, you can grab a mask and watch from the safety of the netted areas on the fields.

Are you open in the winter?

We close at the end of November and open again the first weekend in March.

Do we play if it rains?

We go rain or shine, unless there are thunderstorms or severe weather.

Can I bring my own food and/or beverages?

Yes. We do not have a restaurant on-site, so we allow outside food or non-alcoholic beverages on the property. We have lovely spots by the water that are ideal for picnics. You can also order pizza when you check in for $5.00 per player for 2 slices of pizza and a drink.

How much paint will I use?

The average player goes through 500 paintballs in 4 hours and 500 – 1,000 for a full day.

Can I bring my pet?

Of course, dogs are welcome; however, please ensure they are on a leash.

Low impact options

We offer a lower impact paintball for the same pricing. 50 caliber paintballs and lower pressure markers.
